Nike recently came out with a shoe that had the Betsy Ross flag on the back. The shoes were not created with anything bad being attached, but nothing more than a way to reflect on history as well as some nice new sneakers. However, there are a lot of people living in America who hate America, so they try every day to show this in any way possible. Colin Kaepernick, a former quarterback in the NFL, is one of the contract athletes that is signed on with Nike. Kaepernick invented the controversial ‘take a knee for the national anthem’. This sparked a massive outrage from NFL fans, heard around America. Americans who had been die-hard fans of the sport had taken their frustrations to social media, explaining that they were not going to watch anymore.
Kaepernick came out and said “the Betsy Ross flag has racist ties,” thus, Nike removed the shoe from its product line. It is an amazing world to live in when athletes have more power than the CEO, board members, & shareholders. Remembering history is not racist Colin. Nike has yet again pushed more patriots away from the brand, with hashtags trending on Twitter that claim that they are getting rid of their remaining Nike gear. Get woke, go broke?
